Lights. Camera. Action!

Hi, I'm Sara

I’ve created a series of video lessons you can use with your students to nurture positive character development in your classroom and beyond!

The fact that you’re visiting tells me you value creating a classroom community that embodies traits such as kindness, respect, and integrity. Maybe your school already uses a character development or social-emotional learning curriculum, or maybe you’re just beginning your search.

Either way, we have you covered with The Character Tree

… a student-friendly and easily implemented program that will reinforce supportive positive character values within your classroom.

You might be wondering

how a 1st-grade teacher ended up on set filming her own “show”

(in the words of my students)

I’ve come to realize that it started long before I became a teacher with a show I fondly remember… Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.

When I first started my teaching career in 2008, I was struck by how much intentionality went into cultivating the kind of classroom environment that I envisioned.

The kind of environment in which trust, acceptance, love, and joy could be felt upon walking into the room.

The kind of environment that was very much shaped by the values and ideals instilled in me from my adolescent “Mister Rogers years”.

Fast forward to today

The Character Tree team and I have created over 70-character development video lessons for kindergarten-2nd grade teachers to use in their classrooms.

It is my sincere hope that the conversations we intentionally captured on our set help you nurture the development of positive character traits within your students so they can succeed in your classroom and beyond.
